Last night the family was trying to watch Idol and Bea dumped her popcorn, refused to clean it up and just, kept, screaming. I've been battling a headache for days and in frustration told her to "Shut up." She was NOT happy with me. She kept telling me, "Mama, you said a bad word! Do not say bad words!" I apologized, we cleaned up the mess together, and I told her I was sorry for giving her "owie feelings." End of story. Or so I thought.
Today over lunch she said, "Mom, God told me that if you say bad words to me again, He's gonna send a storm. For you." Then she smiled and ate her clementine, giving me a look like an Old Testament prophet.
Should I be afraid?

kind of scary how wise she is after only one year of primary. watch out for your storm.
Yikes! Be glad that she hasn't learned about Job yet or you might get Bea-cursed with boils.
Yikes! Watch out, the rains are a'comin'.
Amazing.
And not so amazing seeing how smart her folks are. Children can be cunning little devils and smart ones can articulate it!
Obviously, she is not USED to you telling her to shut up. That is a Great message to get!
Awesome!
When we were young my little sister we incite my father into a rage through bad behavior. In his fury he would threaten/yell/attempt to hit and she would turn, eyes slanted with her hands on her hips and then she would say...'GO AHEAD BISHOP, I DARE YOU...'
Niiice.
Your story of Bea brought back that memory...
Love it! This post has kept our whole family laughing for days! Ryan's even shared it with his parents and Hailey wrote about it in her journal at school;)
